TAIYOKYU KATA III

 

Start from a ready position. Rei.

1a. As you come up from the Rei, form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi)

b. Cross the forearms in front of he chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step out with your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position (right hand crosses on outside)

2a. Move right foot to left foot to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi) (feet form a "V")

b. Smack the palm of the left hand w/ the back of the right fist (the hands are held at about 6" from the chest)

c. Bring the feet together to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi). Bend the knees slightly

d. Keeping the hands together, move them down to belt level (left hand is still to the outside)

3a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a right, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto).

4a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a left, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto).

5a. Pivoting on the right foot turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left Rising Block (Age-Uke).

6a. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right chop block.

7a. Step forward to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left, chop block.

8a. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right, chop block. *

9a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 270 degrees to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left, Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a right, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto).

10a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a left, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto).

11a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left Rising Block (Age-Uke).

12a. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right, chop block.

13a. Step forward to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left, chop block.

14a. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right, chop block. *

15a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 270 degrees to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a left Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a right, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto).

16a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

b. Execute a right Rising Block (Age-Uke).

c. Step forward to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi).

d. Execute a left, forward Knife Hand Strike (Shuto). *

17a. Move left foot to the WEST to form Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi) facing NORTH

b. Cross the forearms in front of he chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step to the right w/ your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position (right hand crosses on outside)

Rei. Return to a ready position.
