TAIYOKYU KATA II

 

Start from a ready position. Rei.

1a. As you come up from the Rei, form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi)

b. Cross the forearms in front of the chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step out with your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position (right hand crosses on outside)

2a. Move right foot to left foot to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi) (feet for a "V")

b. Smack the palm of the left hand w/ the back of the rt. fist (the hands are held at about 6" from the chest)

c. Bring the feet together to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi). Bend the knees slightly

d. Keeping the hands together, move them down to belt level (left hand is still to the outside)

3a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

d. Execute a right, middle punch

4a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a left, seisan stance

d. Execute a left, middle punch

5a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

6a. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right, high punch

7a. Step forward to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left, high punch

8a. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right, high punch *

9a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 270 degrees to the left to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

d. Execute a right, middle punch

10a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a left, seisan stance

d. Execute a left, middle punch

11a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

12a. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right, high punch

13a. Step forward to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left, high punch

14a. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right, high punch *

15a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 270 degrees to the left to form a left, seisan stance

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a right, seisan stance

d. Execute a right, middle punch

16a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 180 degrees to the right to form a right, seisan stance

b. Execute a right Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Step forward to form a left, seisan stance

d. Execute a left, middle punch *

17a. Move left foot to the WEST to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi) facing NORTH

b. Cross the forearms in front of the chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step to the right w/ your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position

Rei. Return to a ready position.
