EXERCISE I KATA

 

Start from a ready position. Rei.

1a. As you come up from the Rei, form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi)

b. Cross the forearms in front of the chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step to the right with your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position (right hand crosses on outside)

2a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 45 to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Downward Block (Harai-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch

3a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 90 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Downward Block (Harai-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

4a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 45 to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Downward Block (Harai-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch

5a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 135 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Rising Block (Age-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

6a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 90 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Rising Block (Age-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

7a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 45 to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Rising Block (Age-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch

8a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 135 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

9a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 90 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

10a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 45 to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Inside Block (Soto-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch

11a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 135 to the right to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Outside Block (Uchi-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch

12a. Pivoting on the left foot, turn 90 to the right to form a right Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a right Outside Block (Uchi-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a left, middle, reverse punch

13a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 45 to the left to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Outside Block (Uchi-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch *

14a. Pivoting on the right foot, turn 180 to the right to form a left Front Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi)

b. Execute a left Outside Block (Uchi-Yoko-Uke)

c. Execute a right, middle, reverse punch *

15a. Move left foot to right foot to form a Attention Stance (Heisoku-Dachi) facing NORTH

b. Cross the forearms in front of the chest (the arms are forming an "X", left hand on the outside)

c. Step to the right with your right foot to form a Ready Stance (Heiko-Dachi)

d. Snap the arms downward to a ready position

Rei. Return to a ready position.
